We’re hosting monthly pump track work and ride parties every third Saturday of the month. You can see your even calendars on FaceBook and on Yahoo Groups.
Hello Bike Park advocates! This is an important time in parks development for the south sound region and Olympia especially.
The 2016 Parks, Arts & Recreation Plan is in review and some updates are coming through. The language for the bike park and the parcel on Kaiser road is still strong.
While the weather has held out nicely, extending the dry riding season, the switch back to rain and fewer daylight hours is still upon us. The change in seasons means a change in priorities for the pump track. We’ll be monitoring and maintaining the track throughout the wet months ahead with a monthly work party on the 3rd Saturday of every month. We hope to see you there!

On the morning of August 8th our pump track grand opening drew a small crowd of cycling community members. Riders of all ages and ability levels came out to enjoy the well groomed pump track and obstacle course set up by our fantastic volunteer team.
We’d like to thank everyone who came to the event, the parks department for their support and all of the project sponsors who make our work possible.

Check out some images of our first complete draft of the bike park proposal. We’re currently gathering input from SSBPA members and the public so please don’t hesitate to contact us through facebook or our Yahoo Groups page. Your feedback helps us to design a better plan.
We had a very successful build session and meeting on Saturday, May 30th. Four of the board members attended and helped to apply a fresh coat of brand new, super nice dirt to the pump track. We also swept the area for trash and reorganized and cleaned up our tool storage shed.
Our next meeting is at the park this Wednesday, 6:30 PM (June 3rd, 2015). All are welcome to attend. Our primary goal for this meeting is to close out the input process for the park layout and features.
Here are some pictures of the 6 hours we spent at the park on Saturday.
Now it’s time to get rider input on what we’re going to do next. Would you like to see an advanced pump track? Jump lines? Skills building features? Soon, the City of Olympia will inform us of the process for phase 2. Stay tuned and keep you shovels at the ready.
